Family woodland garden

This design introduces a practical, interesting and fun woodland area in this family garden in south London. The existing sloped area at the rear of the lawned garden has become overgrown and unsightly and the family wants it to be completely overhauled.

The proposed design features gentle terraces built using railway sleepers and a winding sleeper and gravel path stepping up through the garden to a new shed situated at the rear. On the other side, an informal path of stepping stones winds up the garden to a playhouse for the children. The design works around existing trees and established rhododendrons which the clients are keen to retain.  The new terraces will provide stable areas for woodland planting suitable for the location.
